Ann Demeulemeester Spring 1995
The Demeulemeester way is resolutely anti-theme and anti-trend—the fashion-avoidance policy which has kept her followers faithful all these years. Still, her antennae are tuned to overground issues well enough. This season, she too registered the general fashion dilemma over what on earth to do with skirt lengths. Short she still has aplenty. But then, how to make long seem new, without losing a sense of legginess? Her compromise was to cut half-skirts as chiffon layering pieces, flying away over narrow pants.
